Product Labels & SDSProduct labels provide a standard set of information about chemical materials, including the percentages of their ingredients, first aid information, precautionary statements, personal protective equipment required, user safety recommendations, environmental hazards, directions for use, and instructions for storage and disposal. It is very important to read the label instructions prior to use and follow them carefully. Do not exceed the recommended dosage; more is not better when it comes to treatment products. Users are encouraged to have the product label on hand whenever using a product. Safety Data Sheets (SDS), formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), provide some of the same information as the product labels but include more detail on subjects such as fire fighting, accidental release measures, handling and storage, exposure controls and personal protection, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity, toxicology information, ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information, regulatory and other information. Users are encouraged to read the SDS as part of the product selection process.
ImidaclopridThe following chart includes links to the product labels and SDS for some of the commonly marketed Imidacloprid products that are labeled for adelgids. The WSP products are water-soluble powder, are sold in 4-packs or by the case, and contain 75% Imidacloprid. The 2F or 2L products are flowables / liquids, are sold in 1-gallon containers (although a few are available in smaller sizes), and contain 2 pounds of Imidacloprid per gallon. The 4F product is a flowable, is sold by the quart or by the gallon, and contains 4 pounds of Imidacloprid per gallon.
DinotefuranHere are links to the product labels and SDS for products that contain Dinotefuran and are labeled for control of adelgids.
Other Consumer ProductsHere are links to the product labels and SDS for other consumer products containing Imidacloprid, Dinotefuran, or Bifenthrin. All are labeled for control of adelgids. Note that the products listed below have a lower concentration of active ingredient than the primary products above; therefore, they may offer a shorter period of residual protection and require more frequent retreatment. However, consumers should also consider factors such as the number of trees/inches to be treated, the cost, the desired speed of action, and the desired length of time between treatments in order to make the best choice for their particular situation.
